Reading and Recalling

The task required the volunteer first to read a sentece and then to select a figure associated with the phrase's meaning. This required decoded verbal information to be hold in verbal WM in the left hemisphere to be compared with the visual information in the visual WM in the right hemisphere (e.g. Cabeza et al, 2000). We assume that FM1 pictures these WM activities.

The verbal to visual translation required to solve the task inolves the sintatical analysis of the phrase and figures (Kuperberg et al, 2006; Naghavi et al, 2005, Xu et al, 2005). We assumed that FM2 is associated with these activities.

Reading involves to recognize and to assign meaning to the sentence and recalling involves to assign meaning to the corresponding figure (Bavalier et al, 1997; Flowers et al, 2004; Tagamets et al, 2000). We assume that FM3 is related with these activities.
